CALLING ALL AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHERS!

F&M Bank is excited to once again host our annual Calendar Photography Contest, inviting amateur photographers to showcase the natural beauty, landscapes, and character of Rockingham, Shenandoah, Frederick, Augusta, Warren, Fauquier, and surrounding counties throughout all seasons of the year.

Last year, we received 170 incredible entries from talented photographers across our community, and we can’t wait to see this year’s submissions!

Whether you’re capturing mountain views, small-town charm, farmland, wildlife, or seasonal beauty, we encourage you to share your favorite local photographs with us!

Contest Rules & Details

F&M Bank is excited to invite amateur photographers to submit their best images showcasing the beauty, character, and charm of the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding communities for our annual Calendar Photography Contest.

Submission Timeline

  • Contest submissions will be accepted from May 18, 2026 through June 30, 2026
  • Public voting will open on July 1, 2026
  • Winners will be contacted by August 3, 2026

How Winners Are Selected

After submissions close, all eligible entries will be posted for public voting on Facebook, where each “like” will count as one vote. The top 30 photos selected by the public will advance to a second round of judging conducted by F&M Bank staff, who will select the 13 final images featured in the upcoming calendar.

All judging decisions made by F&M Bank are final.

Entry Requirements

  • Maximum of 4 photo submissions per person
  • Multiple submissions should represent different seasons whenever possible
  • Winners may have no more than 2 photos selected
  • Contestants will be notified following the final judging process

Eligibility

  • Open to amateur photographers only
    • Amateur photographers are defined as individuals earning 25% or less of their income from photography
  • F&M Bank employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate

Photo Specifications

  • Photos must be submitted digitally
  • Minimum image size:
    • 8.5" x 11" at 300 dpi
    • OR 2550 x 3300 pixels
  • Only horizontal images will be accepted
  • Landscape and close-up photography are both welcome
  • Photos may be taken in previous years
Photos featuring identifiable individuals, close-up portraits, or prominent faces are discouraged and may not be selected for the calendar. F&M Bank reserves the right to reject any submission containing inappropriate, offensive, explicit, or otherwise unsuitable content.

Photos must be taken within:

  • Rockingham County
  • Shenandoah County
  • Augusta County
  • Frederick County
  • Warren County
  • Fauquier County
  • Or surrounding adjacent counties

Usage Rights & Agreement

By submitting a photo to the F&M Bank Calendar Photography Contest, participants acknowledge and agree to all contest rules and terms.

All submitted photos become the property of F&M Bank and may be used in calendars, marketing materials, advertising, social media, or other promotional purposes without additional compensation.

Entrants are responsible for ensuring they have permission to submit all content included in their images, including recognizable individuals when applicable.
